24 Hour Café Saves The Birthday At Midnight
By Vincent ObinaBandar Seri Begawan – A local cafe came to the rescue of a visiting Malaysian Minister who wanted to celebrate his wife's birthday midnight earlier this week.
Datuk Seri Tengku Adrian bin Tengku Mansor, Malaysian Tourism Minister had a very busy day on Monday when he opened the Visit Malaysia Year in Brunei in addition to attending other important functions while here on a very brief visit.
But despite his busy schedule, he did not forget the birthday ofhis lovely wife Datin Seri Anggraini binti Sentiyaki.
But where would one celebrate a midnight birthday party in the capital? Malaysian High Commissioner, Datuk Ali bin Abdullah and his wife Datin Wan Kamariah binti Wan Abdul Rahman were on hand to help.
Captain Aziz, a long-time Brunei resident, and friends also assisted. And so to Brunei's only 24-hour eatery, the DeRoyalle Cafe in Jalan Sultan they went together with an entourage of 15 or so.
A birthday cake was mysteriously produced and the Minister was rewarded with a kiss from his pleasantly surprised wife and everybody joined in the happy birthday regain. — Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin

Well, it’s not as bad as some of the other “waste of space and waste of time” articles that appear in the BB. Admitedly though, there hasn’t really been anything newsworthy in the BB for the past week which probably means that the publishers are more desperate than ever to fill up their newspaper 😉
