Make myself clearer

My post on the O'Level English issue had me being somewhat misunderstood and I feel as if I must justify myself.

I am against dumbing down the exam.

Yet I am against the continuation of the Brunei-Cambridge GCE O' Level English Language.

By locally designed, what I meant was to not have it formatted like the GCE O'Level. The GCE O' Level do not do justice to who are not part of the 20% who are targetted in the design of the paper.

A recommendation: IGCSE O' Level English Language, or GCSE O' Level English Language, which are both also from Cambridge.

The change is in the format. Not the content. It will still be difficult, I assure you. It won't be dumbed down.  If saying "I is beautiful" wrong in GCE O'Level, I don't see why it should be marked correct in IGCSE O' Levels.

The scale as I've said, should be 1-10. Not 1-2.

  1. If its seeking out an internationally recognized examination, that caters to a greater
proportion of pupils is what you had in mind, then I’m all for it. The original BB letter
writer scares me though by calling for a locally designed examination.

Put simply, I don’t trust the Ministry of Education to devise an adequate one.
