I know the article is a bit lighthearted and simple. But it is actually a response to a recent post by Affy (his website is down for some reason, hope he gets it back up soon), however, here is a screenshot of the RSS feed in my RSS agregator until he gets his site sorted.
The post was about a YouTube video, of an alarming ABC investigation into the emo culture.
Also touching on the exact same issue, is Zippy.
Sure many would think that just because one is emo, doesn’t mean that they must necessarilly mutilate their wrists or whatever, I just think that we should not delude ourselves in thinking things like these do not happen here in Brunei.
Teens, if any, are reading this, take care of yourself.
That was a really well-written article! I don’t believe you’ve ever written in that style before 😉

Yea, best article from u! U Should write more like that, lighthearted writing “suits” u.
Fun to read too.
“Normal person: What’s with you?
Emo Person: My life is closing in, and I’m unloved and no one understands the pain I go through.
Normal Person: Um, sorry but Everyone goes through life, you’re no different.
Emo Person: You don’t understand. You’ve never hurt yourself to get to the next day.
Normal person: Uh, if it sucks that much, why do you look forword to tommorrow to bring pain and suffering instead of killing yourself and ending the pain alltogether?
Emo Person: …*silence*…
Normal person: Poser…”

I can never imagine how emo/goth/punk kids go shopping as well.
Awang Emo: “I’D LIKE ONE OF THOSE FISH NET STOCKINGS PLEASE, AND OH, AND THAT BLACK TOP”
Shop assistant: “WE DONT HAVE IT IN THE SIZE YOU WANT”
Awang Emo: “OH MY LIFE IS DOOMED, ITS SO MISERABLE SHOPS DONT EVEN HAVE CLOTHES MY SIZE” *and proceed to cut themselves*

Definitely my favorite article from you Mau. You totally nailed it!
Emo = fragile + self-centered + paranoid
But it’s not easy to be emo because that person got to brainwashed him/herself that he/she is bloody useless person who can never take “NO” for an answer.

Great article but it lacks research, emo is a different genre from goth.

Nina, if you read again, no where in the article did I say emo is in the same genre as goth. I apologise if my phrasing perhaps that had led you to think that way.
Izzy, *whispers* I used to wear TIGHTS, with my t-shirt tucked in. Dont tell anyone 😛

Amal, I don’t know whether they’ve “touched on the issue” of emo culture but if they did, good for them. I’d be even more happy to give Memoirs of a Poklen a plug. But hey, they’re just not around.
