The difference between an OK post and an AWESOME post

As you know, since last year, I am a Canon convert. I love the range of cameras they have, and I find it amazing that I take these bright and vivid photos with amazing clarity from a light blue girly point and shoot camera.

Some of you may know that my camera drowned in the blue waters of Pelong right before Ramadhan. It was unsalvageable even though I washed it immediately with clean freshwater. Saltwater got into the nooks and crannies of it’s mind and brain.

So for the past few weeks, I have been camera-less, which is really sad because it was Hari Raya. Truth be told I didn’t really feel like going for raya without it.

I’ve been the owner of a camera for the past 6 years. I feel that a camera is the most important tool that a blogger should invest in. It makes all the difference between an OK post, and an AWESOME post. I know I don’t own a DSLR, but after owning 4 cameras, I know for a fact that when you know your camera, you do not need one to take amazing photos.

However you still do need a good camera to take good photos. The difference between a good camera and a bad one I feel, is the flash. I hate photos that are not clear. When there is not enough light, it will be blurry. When a photo is blurry, there is nothing I can do on the computer to salvage it. So yes flash is important.

Anyway, all this camera talk is brought about because I just bought myself, a new camera!!!

It is the most expensive camera I’ve ever bought. I actually wanted to get it back in March for my birthday (the older version, Canon S90 since S95 was not out yet) after reading RAVE reviews but I thought it was such a waste to get a new one since my old camera was working so nicely. Also it was a pretty big chunk out of my wallet so I was pretty hesitant. And I’m glad I waited. After Turquoise drowned, I started saving and yeay! Finally got the s95.

As of now, I am officially, semi-pro.

  1. You know you always take nice food pictures!
And I’m glad that we’re the first to be “conquered” your SD card in new S95.
Btw, name your new camera already?

  2. Haha, I should invest in a camera too I guess. I agree that pics will look clearer with flash, but I don’t like using it because it eats up the battery pretty quickly.

      1. Also, I don’t like it when the object in the front is bright, while the background is still dark. I guess I’m just not a fan of flash, for this reason.
