I just came back from one of my favouritest countries in the world – Japan.
This was my third visit – I’ve visited Tokyo, Fukushima, Sendai before and now on this trip I visited Tokyo, Kyoto and Nagoya. I generally don’t visit a country many times UNLESS I really love it haha.
When mentioning Japan, everyone thinks of how expensive it is but I honestly feel it’s comparable to Singapore – and I also think London is still way more expensive considering when I went there I didn’t even stay in a hotel!
Anyway, airfares, accommodation, transport and WIFI all in for under BND1800 – check it out below!

The price above is based on price per person. There was 5 of us travelling. 🙂
To be honest, we could’ve easily gone lower on the budget too but we decided on few things like –
- We wanted to experience a Japanese airline, and that means travelling from Kuala Lumpur and staying there 1 night – going and back. A slightly cheaper and certainly more hassle free option is to fly direct from Brunei using RB.
- While Haneda Airport and KLIA are both good airports to stay overnight in, we don’t mind paying $40 per night for extra comfort and a proper bed to rest in. 🙂
- Sharing the Wifi more! Hehe. The device actually can be shared between 5 people but that would mean we need to be with each other at all times. Having its split in 3 is more logistically practical, but a more expensive option.
- For the PASMO, that’s basically a reloadable card – I put in roughly BND100 in cause I don’t wanna queue many times to charge my PASMO. I have leftover of about BND30 in my PASMO now – and also sometimes I use it to buy coffee. You have the option to load in as much or as little as u like. 🙂
Next post: our itinerary! Stay tuned!
Love the break down of your trip to Japan, thank you for this info!
